The foundation stone for the IT Park, Sahastradhara Road was laid by Mr. Narayan Datt Tiwari, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Uttaranchal. This is being developed by the State Industrial Development Corporation of Uttaranchal Limited (SIDCUL)- which is the nodal agency of the state for developing industrial parks and estates. The foundation stone laying ceremony was attended amongst others by Mr Hira Singh Bisht, Hon’ble Transport Minister, Mr. Manavendra Shah, Hon’ble Member of Parliament besides senior government functionaries and representatives of the IT majors like Microsoft, Intel, Oracle, IBM, HP , HCL, Wipro and TCS to name a few.
Mr. Amarendra Sinha, Secretary IT, informed that the IT park would have a total built up area of 30 lac square feet consisting of 2 cyber towers having ‘plug & play’ facilities of over 2.5 lac square feet, an Software Technology Park of India (STPI) Incubation center having a built-up area of about 1.0 lac square feet and independent plots which will have an approximate built-up area of 2.75 lac square feet spread over 40 acres of land. In addition roads, water bodies, green areas, common facilities etc. will constitute 15 acres of land.
Mr. Sanjeev Chopra, Secretary Industrial Development, informed that SIDCUL has been entrusted with the responsibility of developing industrial parks and estates at Pantnagar, Haridwar and Sitarganj, besides the IT Park. He further pointed out that M/s Feedback Ventures had been appointed as the Project Manager to this park and that the first phase work has already been awarded at a cost of Rs. 5.30 crore. Site work and mobilization has already commenced. The target date of completion is October 2005. The target date of beginning of marketing initiative is April 2005.
The vision is to develop a Technology Park, a property based development which has a high-quality physical environment (basic & support infrastructure) in a park like setting and emphasizes on activities promoting growth of research, technology, and knowledge based enterprises. The commitment is to be a business space provider that takes care of all business needs in a community like setting and ambience, not just sell/rent space by providing plots and buildings.
This Information Technology Park is envisioned as an integrated and the self-contained development to match similar projects elsewhere with "best in class" features and amenities. The product mix has been configured to achieve this desired positioning. Speaking on the occasion Mr. Narayan Datt Tiwari reiterated the resolve of the Government to make Uttaranchal a leading destination of knowledge based industries. He exhorted everybody concerned with the project to fully commit them to the timely and successful completion of the project.

30-03-06 Shri Manohar Shyam Joshi famous Hindi Literature, also called the Father of Indian Soap Operas passed away. He is author of popular TV soap opera HUMLOG and BUNIYAD. He authored several books on various topics such as Kasap, Netaji Kahin, Kuru kuru Swaahaa, Hariya Hercules ki Hairaani. He also served as editor of Saptahik Hindushtan and Weekend Review. We pay our respectful tribute to the son Uttaranchal. May his soul rest in peace. 08-04-06 280 MW Dhauliganga project completed in 5 years was inaugurated at Dharchula in Pithoragarh District.

According to MOU signed between government
and Jagson Airlines, a regular flight from Delhi to Pantnagar is to begin
from 9th December which happens to be the 5th birthday of the state. A 17
seater aircraft will be deployed for the purpose and financial performance

Shri Bhairo Singh Shekhwat inaugurated the Patanjali Yog Peeth founded by Swami Ramdev at Haridwar. Shri N D Tiwari, CM Uttaranchal announced that Uttaranchal Assembly has passed a resolution conferring status of University to this institution. Several dignitaries including Smt Sheila Dixit, CM Delhi, Uttaranchal Governor Shri Sudarshan Aggarwal, CM of Bihar Shri Nitesh Kumar, Haryana CM Shri Bhupindeer Singh Hooda, TDP Leader and Ex CM of Andhra Shri Chandra Babu Naidu besides Railway Minister Shri Lalu Prasad Yadav with wife Ex Bihar CM Smt Rabri Devi were present on the occasion.
Condolence Shri Manvendra Shah (26-05-1921 to 05-01-2007), BJP M P and ex ruler of Tehri passed away at New on 5 Jan, 2007. He was 85. His body was taken to Narendranagar for public to pay respect before cremation at Rishikesh. He has the distinction of winning Tehri Lok Sabha seat for a record eight times since 1957 and lost only once to Shri Paripura Nand Paunuli in 1971. He succeeded his father Maharaja Narendra Shah to the throne of Tehri in 1946 for a brief period before he signed the instrument of merger into Indian Union (he was first to sign it) on August 1, 1949. He remained ambassador to Ireland from 1980 to 1983. He was custodian of the holy Badrinath Temple. We pay our respectful homage to the departed soul and convey our condolences to the bereaved family. May his soul rest in peace.
